Coupons
A detailed rule set for discounts — who they apply to, when, and how many times.
Coupon types
Percentage off, a fixed amount off, a free trial, free shipping, a setup-fee waiver, or a credit bonus.
How the discount applies
Set a maximum discount cap, whether it applies before or after tax, a minimum order amount or quantity to qualify, and — for subscriptions — a minimum number of months.
Scope
Restrict a coupon to specific products, categories, plans, or add-ons, specific currencies or countries, specific payment methods, or specific customer groups — or leave it open to everything.
Usage limits
| Limit | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Total limit | How many times the coupon can be used in total, across everyone |
| Per customer / per email | How many times one person can use it |
| First order only | Restricts it to a customer's very first order |
| Stackable | Whether it can be combined with another coupon |
Recurring & subscription coupons
For subscription discounts, choose whether the discount applies only to the first invoice or for a limited number of billing cycles, and whether it survives if the customer later upgrades or downgrades their plan.
Auto-apply
A coupon can be set to apply itself automatically when an order qualifies, with a priority order if more than one coupon could apply, and an option to only apply it if it's the best available discount.
Scheduling
Set a start and end date (with timezone), and whether the coupon should expire early once its usage limit is reached.
