Subscription Lifecycle
What is this?
The set of actions available from a subscription's detail page: Edit, Change plan, and Cancel.
How to use it
- Click Cancel to open the confirmation dialog.
- The dialog states plainly: "This will mark the subscription as cancelled and disable auto-renew. This action cannot be undone," and offers an optional cancellation reason field.
- Click Confirm Cancel to proceed, or Keep Subscription to back out safely (confirmed in this audit to leave the subscription completely unchanged).
What happens after cancelling?
Not executed against a real subscription in this audit (to protect live customer subscriptions) — the effect on invoicing, access, and the Order/Client record after a real cancellation is Not fully verified in production-safe testing.
Common problems
Problem: I want to cancel at the end of the current billing period, not immediately.
Why it happens: The Cancel dialog observed in this audit only offered one path (immediate cancellation with an optional reason) — no separate period-end option was shown, even though the subscription record has a distinct "Cancel At Period End" field.
How to fix: Confirm with your billing administrator or product team whether period-end cancellation is supported elsewhere in the product before assuming it is unavailable.
