FAQs

Quick answers to the questions people ask most.

General

What's the difference between a Project, a Module and a Task?
A Project is the top-level container, a Module is a sub-area inside a Project, and a Task is the individual unit of work someone actually schedules and completes. See ETA Overview.
Can I use ETA on my phone?
Yes — ETA's layout adapts to smaller screens, with the sidebar tucking behind a menu button.
Where do I see my own schedule laid out visually instead of as a list?
User Timeline, under the collapsible Time Tracking section in the sidebar.

Tasks

Why can't I type a custom task duration?
Duration is deliberately limited to a fixed list of 15-minute increments to keep scheduling consistent, rather than a free-text field.
What happens if I don't pick a start date for a task?
ETA automatically schedules it into the next slot with enough free capacity.

Releases

Can I change which Project a release belongs to after creating it?
No — the Project field is locked once a release exists, since version numbering depends on it.
What happens when I mark a stage done?
The release automatically advances to the next stage, reassigns the Current Owner to that stage's leader, and recalculates the SLA.

Accounts & permissions

How do I know what my account is allowed to do?
ETA doesn't currently display your permission tier anywhere in the app. Ask your organization's AllHeartWeb administrator if you're unsure.
