Recurring Tasks
Set up a task once and let it repeat on Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half-Yearly or Yearly schedules.
What are Recurring Tasks?
A Recurring Task is a template that automatically regenerates a new task occurrence on a schedule — Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half-Yearly or Yearly — so you don't have to re-create the same task by hand every time.
Why use Recurring Tasks?
Useful for anything that genuinely repeats — a weekly status update, a monthly report, a daily check-in — without cluttering My Tasks with duplicate manual entries.
When would I use this screen?
- Setting up a task that needs to repeat on a fixed schedule
- Checking whether there's enough team capacity to add a new recurring commitment
- Reviewing all of your organization's standing recurring tasks in one place
Before you start
Open ETA → Recurring Tasks from the sidebar. You'll need the same details as a normal task (name, assignee, duration, project, module) plus a frequency.
How to create a recurring task
- Open Recurring Tasks
Go to ETA → Recurring Tasks.
- Fill in the task details
Enter a name, assignee, duration, project and module, just like a regular task.
- Choose a frequency
Pick Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half-Yearly or Yearly.
- Check Availability
Before you can create it, ETA runs a pre-flight check showing what percentage of the needed slots are actually available given everyone's current schedule. If availability is too low, you'll need to adjust the assignee, duration, or timing.
- Create it
Once availability looks good, submit. Creation can take up to about a minute to fully process — see the note below.
