Balance Sheet

Assets, Liabilities, and Equity at a point in time.

What is the Balance Sheet screen?

Balance Sheet is the classic Assets = Liabilities + Equity report, with Standard, Dashboard, and Comparative views, and PDF/Excel export.

Why does this matter?

It's one of the two core financial statements a business needs to understand its financial position, alongside Profit & Loss.

When would I use this?

  • Reviewing your company's financial position as of a specific date
  • Preparing figures for an investor, lender, or auditor
  • Sanity-checking that assets, liabilities, and equity are being recorded correctly

Before you start

You need access to the Balance Sheet screen under Finance → Inex.

Common problems

Problem
Assets, Liabilities, and Equity all show ₹0 even though I have real transaction history.
How to fix it
This has been observed on at least one tenant and is being tracked as a known issue — the report appears to source only from the dedicated Assets register rather than from Category classification. Contact your account admin before relying on this report for real decisions until it's confirmed fixed.

FAQs

Does marking a Category as “Asset” make it show up here?
This is not confirmed — category classification and this report have been observed not to match on at least one tenant. Check with your account admin rather than assuming they're connected.
