Currencies
Your base currency, and the exchange rates for everything else.
What is the Currencies screen?
InEx supports multiple currencies. One currency is marked as your Base Currency — the currency your reports are shown in — and every other currency carries an exchange rate against that base.
Why does this matter?
If your company pays vendors or holds accounts in more than one currency, you need a single, consistent currency to report in. Currencies is where that conversion rate lives.
When would I use this?
- Setting up a new currency before recording a transaction in it
- Checking or updating an exchange rate
- Confirming which currency is your base currency
Before you start
You need access to the Currencies screen under Finance → Inex. Changing your base currency can affect how existing financial data is reported, so treat that specifically as a decision to make deliberately, not casually.
