Profit & Loss
Revenue, expenses, and your net result.
What is the Profit & Loss screen?
Profit & Loss is the Revenue − Expenses = Net Profit report, with Standard, Dashboard, Comparative, and Monthly Breakdown views, and PDF/Excel export.
Why does this matter?
It's the report that answers the single most common financial question: did we make or lose money, and how much?
When would I use this?
- Checking how the business performed over a period
- Comparing performance month over month
- Preparing figures for an investor, lender, or tax filing
Before you start
You need access to the Profit & Loss screen under Finance → Inex.
Reading the stats
| Item | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Total Revenue | All income for the selected period. |
| Total Expenses | All expenses for the selected period. |
| Net Profit | Total Revenue minus Total Expenses. |
| Net Profit Margin | Net Profit as a percentage of Total Revenue. |
How to use this screen
- Open Profit & Loss
Go to Finance → Inex → Profit & Loss.
- Choose a date range
Use Select date range to change the reporting period, or leave it on All time.
- Switch to Monthly Breakdown if needed
Use this view to see the profit trend month over month instead of a single total.

Common problems
Problem
Total Revenue and Total Expenses both show ₹0 even after recording a new transaction.
How to fix it
This has been observed and reproduced on at least one tenant (creating a new expense did not change the ₹0 total) and is being tracked as a known critical issue. Do not rely on this report for real financial decisions until your account admin confirms it has been fixed — cross-check totals against All Transaction in the meantime.
FAQs
If this report is showing ₹0, does that mean I have no income or expenses?
No — check All Transaction, Income, and Expenses directly for your real totals. A ₹0 Profit & Loss has been observed even on tenants with substantial transaction history, so it should not be read as confirmation that no data exists.
