Project

Tag spend by initiative, subsidiary, or client.

What is the Project screen?

Projects let you tag income and expenses by initiative, subsidiary, or client (for example “AllHeart Web Inc” or “Australia Tour”), so you can see spend broken down by project.

Why does this matter?

Without a Project tag, a report can tell you how much you spent in total, but not which client, trip, or internal initiative it belongs to.

When would I use this?

  • Setting up a new client, subsidiary, or initiative before recording spend against it
  • Marking a frequently-used project as a favorite
  • Reviewing total spend and budget for a specific project

Before you start

You need access to the Project screen under Finance → Inex to add or manage projects.

How to add a new project

  1. Open Project

Go to Finance → Inex → Project.

  2. Click Create Project

    Click + Create Project.

  3. Fill in the project's details

Enter a Project name, optional Description, and Budget.

The project table

Each row shows the Project name, Description, Amount, and Budget. Star a project to mark it a favorite for quicker access.

Common problems

Problem
A project doesn't appear in the picker when recording an expense.
How to fix it
Confirm the project hasn't been moved to Trash, and that you're looking at the right page if there's more than one page of projects.
