Lead Sources
Not the same as "how a lead was entered" — a Lead Source is a managed marketing channel you track over time.
Lead Source vs. how a lead was added
Every lead records how it entered your system — Manual, CSV, an import, a webform, and so on. A Lead Source is a different, separate concept: a marketing channel you set up and track deliberately, like a specific ad campaign, a partner, or an organic search tag, each identified by a source key embedded in your signup links.
Setting up a source
A source has a name, a type (paid ads, organic, email, WhatsApp, social media, partner, referral, and more), a status (active/inactive), and can be linked to an ad platform (Google, Meta, Bing, etc.) so visitors arriving with that platform's click-id are automatically attributed to the right source.
What it actually tracks
| Metric | What it means |
|---|---|
| Total leads | Leads attributed to this source |
| Conversions / Paid users | How many of those leads became paying customers |
| Revenue | Total revenue from customers attributed to this source |
| Clicks / Unique clicks | Link clicks attributed to this source (from campaign emails) |
| Web sessions / visitors / searches | Website activity from visitors attributed to this source |
Numbers are rolled up daily, so a source's report reflects yesterday's activity, not a live count.
Drilling into a source
From any source, view its leads, its click history, and — for any one person — their full history across every source they've ever touched.
