What is Pool SMTP?

Pool SMTP is the configuration layer behind the Pool screen — it's where the actual connection details for a sending account (the SMTP server, port and credentials) are set up so that account can be used by projects and campaigns. The same SMTP Configuration step that appears when creating a project draws on entries set up here.

Its screen wasn't directly reachable during documentation research, so the details below are limited to what can be reasonably inferred from the Pool screen's "Active SMTPs" stat and the SMTP Configuration step in the Projects wizard, rather than a full walkthrough of its own fields and options. Confirm exact fields with your account admin, or from the screen itself, before relying on specifics not listed here.

Why is this separate from Pool?

Pool shows which SMTP accounts exist and whether they're active; Pool SMTP is where the underlying connection details for those accounts are managed. Keeping configuration separate from the summary list keeps sensitive connection details out of the main Pool view.

When would I use this screen?

Setting up a new SMTP account's connection details before it appears in Pool
Updating credentials for an existing sending account (for example, after a password rotation)

Never share SMTP passwords, API keys or other sending credentials outside of trusted admins. This documentation intentionally does not describe or display credential values.

What's involved in setting one up

Based on the SMTP Configuration step seen when creating a project, expect to provide connection details for a sending account — the kind of information typically needed to connect to any SMTP server (host, port, and authentication). Exact field names and options for the standalone Pool SMTP screen aren't confirmed in this documentation.
