Projects

A Project is the workspace that holds a set of email templates and the SMTP setup they send through.

What is the Projects screen?

Projects is the top-level list of template workspaces in Email Service. Each project groups together the templates built for a particular use case (for example, a client, a product, or a type of outreach) along with the SMTP configuration those templates will send through once a campaign runs.

Why use Projects?

Splitting work into projects keeps unrelated templates from mixing together and lets you point different projects at different sending setups — useful when different clients or teams need their own templates and their own sending identity.

When would I use this screen?

  • Starting a new set of email templates for a client or campaign type
  • Opening an existing workspace to add or edit its templates
  • Checking which SMTP configuration a workspace is set up to send through

Before you start

You need access to the Email Service module to see Projects in the sidebar. Creating a project's SMTP configuration step will ask for sending credentials, so have those ready if you're setting one up from scratch — or plan to attach an existing Pool SMTP entry instead.

How to create a new project

  1. Open Projects

Go to Email Service → Projects.

  2. Start a new workspace

Click + New Project (or the equivalent create action) at the top of the list.

  3. Fill in the project's basic details

The first step of the wizard covers the workspace itself — its name and any identifying details for the project.

  4. Set up SMTP Configuration

The second step, SMTP Configuration, is where the project is connected to a sending account — either by entering SMTP details directly or by selecting from your existing Pool. This is what templates in this project will send through once a campaign runs.

  5. Save the project

Once both steps are complete, save to add the workspace to your Projects list.

The Projects list

Each row in the list represents one workspace. Opening a project takes you to its Template List, where the individual templates that belong to it are managed — see Templates.

Common problems

Problem
Templates in a project aren't sending.
How to fix it
Check the project's SMTP Configuration step — if it points at a Pool SMTP account, confirm that account is active. See Pool and Pool SMTP.

FAQs

Can a project use more than one SMTP account?
This documentation doesn't confirm whether a project can be attached to more than one sending account at a time — check with your account admin if you need certainty.
Can I move a template from one project to another?
Not confirmed in this documentation. Templates are managed from inside the project that owns them — see Templates.
