Assets

Keep track of company equipment and who it's currently assigned to.

What is the Assets screen?

Assets is a register of company equipment — laptops, accessories, and similar items — along with details like serial number, department, location, who it's assigned to, and its current status.

Why track assets in EnOpSy?

Company equipment is easy to lose track of once it's spread across a growing team. Keeping a single register makes it clear who has what, what's available to assign, and what's in for repair or retired.

When would I use this screen?

  • Assigning a laptop or accessory to a new team member
  • Checking whether any equipment is currently available
  • Looking up an asset's warranty expiry date
  • Reviewing what's assigned to someone who's leaving

Before you start

You need access to the Assets screen under Teams to add or manage assets.

Common problems

Problem
An asset shows as In Use but the assigned person has left.
How to fix it
Update the asset's assignment or status (for example to Available) once the equipment has actually been returned.
Problem
I can't find an asset I know exists.
How to fix it
Check View Trash, and confirm you're not filtering the list in a way that hides it — see Search, Filter & Columns.

FAQs

Can one asset be assigned to more than one person?
Based on the table, each asset shows a single “Assigned To” value at a time.
What happens to an asset's history when it's marked Retired?
This documentation doesn't confirm what happens to its history once retired — check with your account admin if you need certainty for auditing.
