Active & Inactive Members

What Active and Inactive mean, and how to change a member's status.

What is member status?

Every employee record in EnOpSy is either Active or Inactive. This is the only status EnOpSy uses for team members — there is no separate suspended or disabled state on this screen.

Why does this matter?

When someone leaves the company or is on long-term leave, you don't want to permanently delete their history — you still want their past attendance, leave and performance records available. Setting them Inactive removes them from the everyday Active list without deleting anything.

Before you start

  • You need access to the Employee List screen to change someone's status.

How to set a team member as Inactive

  1. Open Employee List

Go to Manpower → Teams → Employee List.

  2. Open the row's actions menu

Click the ⋮ icon next to the employee you want to change.

  3. Choose Set as Inactive

Select Set as Inactive from the menu. This is the only option offered here for removing someone from the active list — there is no permanent delete option on this screen.

How to view inactive members

By default, the Employee List only shows Active employees. Click View Inactive at the top of the page to see everyone who has been set to Inactive.

What happens to their records?Based on what this screen shows, setting someone Inactive hides them from the default Active list rather than deleting their history. If you need a guarantee about what happens to their leave, asset or payroll history long-term, confirm that with whoever manages your EnOpSy account before deactivating someone with an open asset assignment or pending leave request.

Common problems

Problem
I set someone Inactive by mistake.
How to fix it
Open View Inactive, find their row, and use the row actions menu to change their status back — the same menu used to deactivate them is where you'd look to reverse it.
Problem
An inactive employee still has an asset assigned to them.
How to fix it
Check the Assets screen and reassign or update the asset's status before or after deactivating the employee, so equipment doesn't get lost track of.

FAQs

Is there a Suspended or Disabled status?
No. Employee List only has two statuses: Active and Inactive.
Can an Inactive employee still log in?
This screen controls whether someone appears in your active team list. If your company also manages a separate login/account system, check with your account admin about how that's affected.
Does setting someone Inactive delete their leave or performance history?
Based on how this screen works, it doesn't appear to delete anything — it hides them from the default list. Confirm with your account admin if you need certainty for compliance reasons.
